Back in January I posted about Fade in Films doing a Snowboarding documentary in western Canada, starting in Banff and ending in Whistler. Well this February, Dom Grimard and Jamie Shaw flew from their mundane lives in Quebec and Ontario, into Calgary and spent 2 weeks filming The Powder Highway. Now we get to see the first bit of fruit from that epic voyage with the newly released trailer.
It’s a great trailer starting that starts out with some familiar faces right from the beginning Dom shooting a review mirror, Andrew Hardingham driving around and a quick shot of Karl Jost. Then a healthy amount of western Canada scenery in slow pans and time lapses building up the energy leading into some great shots, everything from long and wide to upclose action shots with a gopro on a stick. Great editing and I love how much scenery was captured in just this trailer, I think it really showcases some great places in western Canada.
All that being said I’ll love it when the whole thing is done in September, I would love for this to be ‘the movie’ I show people when I try to explain to them what winters in the Rocky Mountains were like. I have some of Dom’s older movies that I show to people sometimes but they aren’t polished or have production value like this trailer. Dom and Jamie, I think you’ve done a great job so far and I hope the final product is as good as the trailer.
See for yourself->
