Quebec’s summertime centre of debauchery and under-age drinking, known better to the world at large as the Rodeo Du Camion, has been cancelled this year. No official announcement has been made but whispers are ripe with the rumours from a recent meeting saying the current board has decided not to go forward with the truck rodeo this year. The event which has brought as many as 60,000 people a year to the Temiskaming area was running into the red ink and was having trouble gaining the necessary funds to get it off the ground according to this article here. (or at least that is what I was able to gather, as my French is pretty horrible…)
Well that certainly is a kick in the tits for local tourism, though for the first time in 32 years you’ll be able to breathe clean air in Notre Dame du Nord in the middle of august. I’ll be following this story super closely as it develops… nope… no I won’t…
